Application analysis of antibiotics in our hospital in 2009

Objective:To investigate the clinical application of antibiotics in our hospital,and to provide reference for rational clinical use.Methods:A retrospective survey was taken in 2009,the sales amount,DDDs,DDC and DUI of the top-10 oral and intravenous antibiotics in terms of the sales amount were calculated and analysed respectively.Results:The sales amount of antibiotics in our hospital accounted for 19.98% of all drugs,and that of cephalosporin occupied 40.18% of antibiotics.Cefazolin sodium pentahydrate had the highest DDDs and ofloxacin tablet had the lowest DDC;DUIs of moxifloxacin hydrochloride tablet,cef ixime dispersible tablet,cefazolin sodium pentahydrate,ceftizoxime sodium,cloxacillin sodium were greater than 1.Conclusion:The antibiotic usage in our hospital was basically rational,which reflected that we achieved better results after implementation of hierarchical management for antibiotics and special inspections in our hospital.
