Acoustic Alignment of Loudspeaker Drivers by a Nonsymmetrical Crossovers of Different Orders

The time offset due to acoustical center displacements in multiway loudspeakers is corrected by using nonsymmetrical crossovers of different orders, where the group delay difference coincides with the time offset. The phase match is restricted to frequencies close to the crossover frequency, which nevertheless produces symmetric polar behavior and flat magnitude of the summed response for a considerable range of compensated time offsets
