EFFICIENT COMPUTATION OF FLOW WITH CAVITATION BY COMPRESSIBLE PRESSURE CORRECTION

We describe the application of a staggered scheme with a compressible pressure correction method to the computation of flow with cavitation modeled by the homogeneous equilibrium model, resulting in a nonconvex hyperbolic system. Adaptation of the stan- dard pressure correction algorithm to improve the stability for fully compressible flow is discussed. Results are presented for a flow around a two dimensional hydrofoil, in which the Mach number varies between 10 −3 and 30.
