Coronary Artery Disease in People With Diabetes: Diagnostic and Risk Factor Evaluation

IN BRIEF People with diabetes are at high risk from coronary artery disease (CAD), tend to present late, and have silent ischemia. Early detection and intervention may improve survival. How to identify these patients is the topic of this review, which will discuss cardiac stress testing in diabetic patients with and without known CAD. The authors discuss who should be tested and review the modalities available for detection of CAD and for risk stratification.
