The Australian Business Excellence Framework was first introduced in 1987, in order to help Australian enterprises meet the challenges of the global market. Since that time it has undergone regular update and re-development. The framework is an organisational tool which operationalises proven principles and focuses on seven critical success categories. It provides the means of introducing business improvement methodologies across all aspects of an enterprise. It was thought that the excellence framework may provide a useful vehicle for small horticultural enterprises to focus on their business fundamentals.
