Simulation of the Thermal Stratification at the FLEX Central Station with a One-Dimensional Integral Model

The strategy of the Fladenground Experiment (FLEX) in 1976 was primarily based on the concept that turbulent vertical mixing predominantly controls the distribution of quantities in this part of the North Sea. Consequently, one-dimensional models were expected to give a good fit to vertical temperature profiles observed at the FLEX central station. This hypothesis is tested in the present paper.
