Entropy Method for Reliability Assessment of Units

Information quantity and Information entropy are applied to the reliability assessment of units. Based on the value scope of the random most-excellent classical (method) approximate lower limit of units, and the condition i.e. that the arithmetic mean of the total information provided by the boundary values is equivalent to the total information provided by the entropy (method) approximate lower limit R′ L,S , R′ L,S can be solved. The formula and steps of the reliability entropy (method) assessment for units are given. Examples show that results of the reliability entropy (method) assessment are always between the non-random most-excellent classical (method) approximate lower limit and a Bayes (method) approximate lower limit. Result is very satisfactory.
