A system and method for supporting connectivity of a mobile terminal with a vehicle. There is provided a mobile terminal that includes at least one connectivity option for connecting to a communication channel of the vehicle. A flexible connectivity module comprising a controller is programmed to determine whether there is an appropriate communication channel between the mobile terminal and the vehicle at least so that the mobile terminal and the vehicle can communicate with each other. The controller selects the optimal connectivity option if more is available as one of the matching communication channels and monitors the selected connectivity option and changes or modifies the selected connectivity option when a predetermined interference threshold is reached.
