Treatment of point loads in element free Galerkin method (EFGM)

In element free Galerkin method (EFGM), only nodal data are necessary, there is no need to join nodes into elements; in addition, high accuracy can be achieved and postprocess is easy. In this paper, how to deal with point loads in EFGM is suggested and this is followed by related examples. Copyright © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
