The article presents an eco-efficient approach to the role of electronics sustainability, which should seek to optimize the benefits that can be derived from the "useful" properties of electronics materials, as well as to present the eco-effectiveness implications over their outcome. The concept of electronics eco-efficiency is examined using a materials perspective. The main purposes of electronics eco-efficiency analysis are: reducing consumption of resources, reducing the environmental impact, increasing the value of added electronics devices and increase economic efficiency of production while reducing environmental impact. Eco-effectiveness seeks to design industrial systems that emulate the healthy abundance of nature. The central design principle of eco-effectiveness is waste equals food. As consequence we consider that electronics eco-effectiveness is the radical transformation of classical effectiveness of electronics through their lifecycle using new methods as innovation, redesign, reengineering, renovation, restoration, offset.
