Efficient analysis of a dielectric post in a rectangular waveguide based on the two‐dimensional FD‐TD method

A modified two-dimensional FD-TD method is used for the analysis of an H-plane waveguide loaded with a dielectric post of arbitrary shape, size, number, and location, and the dielectric post resonances and the application of measurement of permittivity constant are discussed. The numerical results are in good agreement with data available in the literature, and the versatility of this approach is given. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
