PRACTICAL STUDY OF RADIO FREQUENCY SIGNAL USED IN ON-LINE PD MONITORING OF HV SWITCHBOARD

In this paper, the radio frequency signal used to on line monitor the partial discharge in high voltage switchboard is studied. It has been proved by experiments that the intensity of the radio frequency signal can indicate the development of various failures, such as insulation and contact failure. The intensity of the signal acquired is strongly affected by the position of the sensor and the shielding.According to these characteristics of the signal, locating the failures and identifying the disturbance from outside of the switchboard can be realized.
