Application of Control Chart and Process Capability Analysis in the Supplier Quality Management

Quality control and management have changed greatly since its transition from the traditional production system to the supply chain environment that now the manufacturers have not only to maintain quality management upon its own products and raw materials but also have to extend it to cover the suppliers and other factors that relate to the quality of raw materials.This paper applies control chart and process capability analysis to the quality monitoring and management of suppliers to ensure that their supplies meet the quality standard of raw materials.The method proposed in the paper is subsequent verified as effective in an empirical study on a certain medical equipment enterprise.
