Core region of Citrobacter O23 lipoplysaccharide

A novel enterobacterial core region in Citrobacter O23 lipopolysaccharide is described. Its structure was determined by methylation analysis/mass spectrometry, chemical degradation and one- and two-dimensional 1H-NMR spectroscopy: where PPEtN stands for diphosphorylethanolamine, and dOclA for 3-deoxy-D-manno-octulosonic acid.
