Mobile Testbed for Video-Rate Multistatic Microwave Imaging Array

A mobile testbed capable of real-time (10 Hz) standoff microwave imaging for concealed threat detection is presented. The system samples a scene with a 1m x 1m multistatic switched antenna array operating at 24–29 GHz. It constructs images on a cost-effective processor at video rate, through the use of Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) imaging. Design and operation of the testbed are discussed, and representative experimental images are presented.
