Research on Multi-Dimensional Opportunistic Communication Routing Protocol in Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks

This paper presents an improved routing protocol based on Prophet, which we call the multi-dimensional probabilistic routing protocol based on the communication of opportunity, or MD_Prophet protocol. We defined three new concepts: effective time stability, node connection frequency based on time period, and expected encounter delay, and we quantitatively analyzed their impact on data forwarding. Second, the delivery probability prediction algorithm was improved according to effective time stability and node connection frequency based on time period. Third, in order to select the optimal next hop node for data transmission, a multi-dimension forwarding model was constructed, and a data forwarding strategy was improved considering both delivery probability prediction algorithm and expected encounter delay. Finally, the MD_Prophet protocol was implemented on the ONE simulation platform, and it performed better than other protocols in the simulation.
