Kinematics of scapula using markers cluster

When using optoelectronic stereophotogrammetry, skin deformation and displacement cause marker movement with respect to the underlying bone. This movement represents an artifact which affects the estimation of the skeletal system kinematics. Minimization and compensation of the soft tissue artifact have been provided (Leardini et al. 2005). Although 3 markers are sufficient to define a body segment, considering more markers gives redundant information and minimizes the soft tissue artifact. The aim of this study is to determine the scapula movement from the shape deformation of markers cluster.
