thema tic spectrum of plan etarium s hows. Our vis itors no longer gain ins ight into the wonders of just the night sky. They can also enjoy las er-enhanced music shows or programs on general natural scien ce at the p lanetariu m of their choice . As pla netarium o perators , we have to incor porate new media and ima gery to address these topics. So it was natural to us at allsky.de to include non-astronomical allskies as a vit al pa rt of ou r range o f produ cts. This year we decided to run a whole assignment for the first time entirely on one topic. We travelled to Egypt to produce material on a ntique a stronomy. Starting at the Giza Pyramids, we photographed our path up the Nile to Luxor, the Valley of Kings, and Abu Simbel. During the prepa ration s for t he t rip it oc curred to us that we could really cover another fascinating world u ntapped by allsky photography: the reefs of t he Red Sea. In our functions a s show pr oducers a t the Kiel Planeta rium we had lon g wanted to have som e allskies of coral, wrecks, or j ust wave s fro m b eneath. Yet all t he material we knew of was either computer-rendered, made up of several unrela ted sho ts, o r show e d sev ere technica l deficits.
