Text compression using rule based encoder

The experimental results on a text compressor using a Lempel-Ziv (LZ) encoder and rule based decoder (RBD) have shown an improvement of 50% in the compression ratio (CR). Further, experiments on the compressor have shown that if the LZ encoder is replaced by a rule based encoder (RBE), then CRs in excess of 230% can be achieved.
