A qualitative analysis of an "ethical election project" in an ethics class

The software used to drive computer-based voting systems was the target of much controversy in the 2004 elections due to the possibility of erroneous outcomes as the result of program faults. This paper uses qualitative methods to analyze the results of a project relating to the question of whether open source election software can help prevent election discrepancies or whether proprietary software contributes to those discrepancies.
