A reliability analysis of a k-out-of-N:G redundant system with the presence of chance common-cause shock failures

Abstract The presenence of chance common-cause shock failures in the analysis of system reliability of a k-out-of-N:G redundant system and r repair facilities is dealt with in this paper. The system is in a failed state when a common-cause shock failure occurre or k units have failed. Failed system repair times are arbitrarily distributed. Laplace transforms of state probabilities and reliability of the system are derived.
