Progress in fusion-driven hybrid system studies in China

The fusion-driven hybrid reactor studies have been performed for nearly 20 years in China to seek for early application of fusion energy. The overall progress is presented, including that in conceptual designs and related R&D activities of fusion-fission hybrid reactors for fissile nuclear fuel breeding or so-called fusion-driven sub-critical systems for both nuclear waste transmutation and fuel production. The further prospect of fusion-driven hybrid systems is given.
