A High-flexibility WDM-PON Monitoring System

A monitoring technique for wavelength division multiplex passive optical network (WDM-PON) system is presented. We propose the WDM-PON monitoring system that combines with an amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) light source and an existing mobile phone system. Our monitoring system possesses that could not interference original quality of signal, low costs, appropriate for unit direction or bi-direction network system, 24 hours monitoring immediately, and address error message. Our proposed system could supervise lots of optical channels simultaneously.
