Acoustic Grain Moisture Meter

ABSTRACT Acontinuous flow grain moisture meter prototype was developed based on the sound pressure level produced by a stream of grain falling onto a grain filled funnel. The design parameters considered were funnel shape, housing surfaces, microphone location, and input grain flow rate. Measurements were made for the effect of wheat temperature, % cheat in wheat, and variety on the Leq-vs MC relationship.
