Asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) operation via satellite: Issues, problems, and resolutions
暂无分享,去创建一个
Satellite links carrying asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) traffic will be essential to extend the capabilities of the fixed backbone of Global Grid into any theater. However, for the resulting theater extension network to operate satisfactorily and in concert with the Global Grid, a number of problems need to be resolved. These problems arise because the bit error characteristics and the inherent satellite propagation delay on typical links have a major adverse impact on the operation of the ATM and the ATM adaptation layer (AAL) protocols, and the synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH) transport mechanism. The authors address the issues related to these specific problems as well as possible solutions to resolving them.<<ETX>>
