KINETICS OF ANTIBODY‐HAPTEN INTERACTIONS *, †

While it was realized as early as 30 to 40 years ago that antibody—antigen reactions occur very rapidly (Hooker and Boyd, 1935; Mayer and Heidelberger, 1942), quantitative kinetic studies of both antibody—antigen and antibodyhapten reactions have come into prominence only during the past decade. Only within recent years have specialized techniques become available which satisfy criteria for accurate and meaningful kinetic measurements.
