Novel capacitance-ratio-independent switched-capacitor digital-analogue convertor

A novel switched-capacitor (SC digital-to-analogue (D/A) convertor is presented which exhibits high linearity owing to a capacitance-ratio-independent conversion algorithm. The core of the convertor consists of an SC circuit which processes the digital word, bit-by-bit, by integrating the reference voltage for a number of time slots corresponding to the bitweight It is shown that the convertor is suitable for very high resolution conversion applications.
