Sub-synchronous Resonance of Large-Scale Wind Farm

Sub-synchronous resonance may occur when power is transmitted through series compensated lines from large-scale wind farm with constant-speed asynchronous wind turbines.This paper adopted PSCAD/EMTDC simulation software and established simulation model for the analysis of sub-synchronous resonance in large-scale wind farm.Thereby,research was conducted on the characteristics of sub-synchronous resonance and torsional vibration when power was transmitted in various operation modes through a series compensated line from a large-scale wind farm.In addition,the characteristics of sub-synchronous resonance were analyzed when the power from large-scale wind farm and thermal power plant were bundled together in power transmission.
