On the Maximum Absorbed Power in Receiving Antenna Arrays

The loading condition to maximize the total received power in arbitrary antenna arrays is presented. It is found that the loads should equal the conjugate of the active impedance of the array in the transmitting case. A physical insight into the solution is provided. Numerical validation on a 2-D nonregular antenna array is provided.
