Crystal structure of diammoniumpentasulfide (NH4)2S5

Abstract. The structure of (NH4)2S5 is characterized by tetrahedral NH 4 cations and helical S5 anions with all-trans conformation (skrew order k = 3.76; <7(S-S) = 2.057 Ä ( 3 x ) and 2.073 Ä ( l x ) ; j8(S/S/S) = 107.2-109.0°; dihedral angle = 67.1°; 68.0°). The analysis of the rigid body motion does not change the ratio of the different bond lengths. (/21/c; a = 5.427, b = 16.226, c = 9.430 Ä, β = 105.31°; Ζ = 4; 1626 hkl; R = 0.028).
