Three-phase/single-phase quasi-z-source matrix converter: Circuit topology, model, and analysis

A novel three-phase/single-phase quasi-Z-source matrix converter (qZS-MC) is proposed in this paper. It extends the voltage gain of traditional MC and has the inherent benefits of MC. The circuit topology is analyzed, and the model is built, which discloses the relationship between the input current harmonic components, qZS impedance and output frequency. The suitable application area is suggested on the basis of the built model and analysis result. The prototype is designed to test the proposed three-phase/single-phase qZS-MC. The identical experimental result, simulation result, and model-based result verify the proposed circuit topology and the built analytic model.
