A priori bounds and structural stability for double-diffusive convection incorporating the Soret effect

An analysis is presented for the equations for convective motion in a fluid saturated porous medium under the Brinkman scheme. The temperature field is non-constant and a solute is also diffused throughout the porous body. This is thus a double diffusive convection problem, although we concentrate on studying the influence the Soret effect has on the solution'behaviour. An a priori result is established whereby we show the solution depends continuously in L2 norm on changes in the Soret coefficient.
