Frequency Dependence Measurement of Conductivity of Copper Plates by the Balanced-Type Disk Resonator Method

A new technique is proposed to estimate the frequency dependence of the relative conductivity of copper plates with multi modes of the balance-type disk resonator using two pairs of dielectric plates of two different thicknesses. Possibility of this method is verified from measurements using two pairs of COP substrates. Furthermore the measured results are presented; the frequency and temperature dependence of COP substrates in the frequency range 10 to 110GHz and in the range -40°C to 80°C, respectively. COP substrates are superior to PTFE substrates as a standard sample for dielectric measurement.
