Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) is a discipline related to the design, evaluation and implementation of interactive systems for use by people; and with the study of the most important phenomena related to this type of interaction. At the Universidad Autónoma de Occidente (UAO), Cali, Colombia, the HCI course is mandatory in the Multimedia Engineering program. The objective of the course is that students acquire, recognize and apply basic concepts and methodologies of analysis, design and implementation of HCI techniques for the development of interactive systems. Thus, the course offers students the knowledge and techniques so that they are able to obtain easy-to-use and easy-to-learn interactive systems. This paper presents the HCI course taught at the UAO and the analysis of the changes to be included in the course design, considering the teacher's experience and the trends in the discipline.
