Reuse EV battery system for renewable energy introduction to island powergrid

This research is the study to enhance the installation of reused EV battery to an existing power system. When installing batteries to a power system, frequency fluctuation and surplus power is a major issue. This research composes of two parts. The first part analyzes the factors causing frequency fluctuation and surplus power. Installing ΔGAPti. showed a possibility of explaining the factor of the former. The second part introduces a way to evaluate the necessary battery power, capacity and its efficiency of a certain renewable energy installation scenario unique to remote islands using data measured in seconds, for a long period of time. Through a case study using data measured in a remote island experimentally installing renewable energy into the existing powergrid, it was shown that when intensively installing renewable energy, the most efficient strategy of stopping renewable energy output differs from when installing separately.
