Research of the PIV Technology Used to Measure the Liquid‐solid Two‐phase Flow in the Pump

Based on single‐phase PIV technique, combined with the image processing techniques, the PIV is used to measure the liquid‐solid two‐phase flow with salt out inside the centrifugal pump: using the image grabber card to collect the flow images and then sent to computer simultaneously via data line, we develop the liquid‐solid image processing and analysis software to separate the particle from the background, and then use some arithmetic to survey and recognize the particle, the solid particle and the hollow glass particle that tracking the liquid was distinguished from its diameter. The experimental results show that the new method has advantages of lower cost and less dependence on hardware. Therefore, it lays the foundation for researching the liquid‐solid two‐phase flow with salt coagulation in the pump.
