Ink jet printing of textiles: An overview of its development and the principles behind ink drop formation and deposition

The Society of Dyers and Colourists, UK, brings about a number of books and monographs on colouration and its related topics. Recently they have published a monograph entitled "Textile Ink Jet Printing". The full book runs to 97 pages. It is written by internationally recognised experts and covers such topics as the future contribution of CAD to the success of digital printing, the role of pretreatments in ink-textile interactions, and colorants in digital textile printing inks. Further sections include information on market trends and developments, and a comprehensive report describing the latest technology advancements in ink jet printing from ITMA 2003. In the following pages we are publishing the first chapter from this monograph.
