Characteristic Analysis of Reflow in Entrance of Excavated Dock

There exists universally reflow in the entrance of excavated dock, which is similar to approach channel of low head hydro-junction located in alluvial river. The reflow results in silt deposit in reflowing zone, which brings about unfavorable influence on the engineering operation. Based on the experimental data of generalized model, this paper analyzes velocity distribution of reflow, discusses factors influencing strength of reflow, considers that the major factors affecting velocity distribution are the mainstream velocity and the angle between mainstream line and basin axis, and provides the empirical formula to compute strength of the reflow.
