A STUDY OF HUMIDITY VARIATIONS IN CANADIAN HOUSES.

Abstract : The temperature and humidity of the air in houses affects the comfort of the occupants and the performance of the building and furnishings. Very low humidity have adverse physiological effects and may cause damage due to shrinkage of moisture-sensitive materials. Excessive humidity may result in objectionable condensation on windows and within the structure in winter and deterioration of materials due to high moisture content. Actual field measurements are therefore of value as a basis for evaluating factors that affect humidity and for predicting indoor climate. (Author)
