Abstract : A small, battery-powered fan heater charged with dry-ice was used in the air space of a casualty bag. The cooling power averaged less than 50 watts. In a hot environment, more than twice this cooling power is needed. When the carbon dioxide was allowed to leak into the airspace the concentration rose to a level that would be uncomfortable but not toxic....
