Rheometers for Molten Plastics: A Practical Guide to Testing and Property Measurement

The Society of Plastics Engineers is pleased to sponsor and endorse this new publication, Rheometers for Molten Plastics. The volume serves a long-standing need and represents yet another joint contribution by the publisher and the Society to the technical literature of plastics science. This publication should be particularly useful to the plastics engineer with a need to evaluate resin processabilityon the basis of rheological tests. The mathematics are unsophisticated and formulas are presented rather than derived. Further, emphasis on techniques of conversion of experimental data into meaningful property values ensures that the real need of the practicing engineer is served by this volume. SPE has long sponsored books through the medium of its Technical Volumes Committee which has made a particular effort to encourage publication in areas of the technology not previously covered in the lit erature. The Committee has commissioned and directed such publica tions and reviewed final manuscripts for technical accuracy. In addition to educational programs, conferences and meetings the Society publishes four periodicals-Plastics Engineering, Polymer Engineering and Science (PE & S), Journal of Vinyl Technology and Polymer Composites-as well as conference proceedings and other selected publications. Information on these activities can be obtained by contacting the Society of Plastics Engineers, 14 Fairfield Drive, Brook field Center, Connecticut 06805. ROBERT D.
