The AFIT multiplexed multi-electrode array and implantation package for neural recording and stimulation

A 2-dimensional 16/spl times/16 electrode array has been developed using standard semiconductor fabrication techniques. The electrode array is capable of both stimulation and recording from each of the 256 electrodes individually. Previous work at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) has shown that 2-dimensional array can be used to collect both visual evoked response (VER) and electroencephalography (EEG) data. Building on this work, the new 256-electrode array has been designed and fabricated. The new array is being used in various experiments to study the primary and associative visual cortex of a rhesus monkey.<<ETX>>
