Coordinated traffic signal control method of urban expressway on-ramp and ground intersections

In view of the major cause for traffic congestion on urban expressways and based on the in-depth analysis and comparison of plenty of related research at home and abroad, the analysis on on-ramp metering and metering threshold calibration in the study area was conducted to establish a traffic flow and traffic signal control model with the road network area from Jinma Overpass to Dashuying Overpass in Kunming, Yunnan Province as the study subject and the traffic delay and queuing length as the objectives of traffic signal control. Moreover, the traffic simulation software VISSIM was used to verify the traffic signal control effect.
