Energy Efficiency Routing in Wireless Sensor Networks using sink nodes: A Survey

2 Abstract: Wireless sensor network (WSN) consists of large number of sensor nodes which perform their sensing, processing and transmitting tasks independently. Due to irreplaceable and limited battery life of the sensor nodes, energy consumption is the main hindrance in WSNs. Even in the presence of failures such as battery life depletion, node failures, etc., the energy of each node must be reserved for long run operation of the network. Aggregating the data from the common sensor nodes using the concept of the sink nodes is used to preserve the battery of the nodes. The sink nodes collect data from the sensor nodes and forward the data to the base station node.
