3D saw-tooth frequency selective surfaces

A novel 3D saw-tooth FSS is designed and studied. The FSS is based on Jerusalem cross (JC) unit element. The design of the FSS is constructed by folding the arms of the flat JC FSS into 3D saw-tooth shape. The transmission performances including the resonant frequency, the fractional bandwidth and the angular stability are simulated using CST. The reflection phase performances of AMC surfaces are also presented. The results show that the 3D saw-tooth FSS has lower resonant frequency and is more stable with the incident angles, compared with the flat surface for a fixed unit cell size.
