A bismuth oxide nanoplate-based carbon dioxide gas sensor

A carbon dioxide gas sensor based on wet-chemically synthesized β-Bi2O3 nanoplates (width ∼100–400 nm; length ∼4–6 μm) was investigated using repeatability and reproducibility tests. The saturation region for different gas concentrations, and the response and recovery times were also recorded. The β-Bi2O3 nanoplate-based sensor has demonstrated lower operating temperature with a high gas response of 100%, which remained unchanged even up to 11,000 ppm CO2. The fast response and recovery times suggests these nanoplates can serve as excellent gas-sensing nanomaterial.
