Rectifying circuit with high impedance microstrip line for wide dynamic range characteristics

Nowadays, high-speed wireless communication systems such as 5G system are studied. These systems are needed many base station using for the small wireless area that is called micro-cell or small cell. Therefore, it is useful to adopt the relay station included with high-speed wireless communication system and wireless power transfer system. Here, it is necessary to improve conversion efficiency deterioration occur to receiving power distribution in receiving antenna panel. Therefore, we investigate the rectifying circuit, which can improve conversion efficiency in low receiving power. We propose effectiveness of the rectifying circuit using high impedance microstrip line (MSL) for DC feedback loop. The circuit simulation indicates that the MSL of 200 ohm is improved a RF/DC conversion efficiency in low input power. For instance, the rectifying circuit achieved the RF/DC conversion efficiency of 4.44 % compared to a conventional rectifying circuit in 5 GHz frequency band.
