Noise reduction system based on frequency domain adaptive filter using modified DFT pair

This paper presents the noise reduction system based on the Frequency Domain Adaptive Filter (FDAF) using the Modified DFT pair (MDFTP). The proposed system consists of the Adaptive Line Enhancer (ALE), which utilizes single microphone; therefore, it is suitable for miniaturizing the portable electronic equipment. In addition, the proposed system requires the adjustment of the decorrelation parameter in the ALE according to the pitch in speech signal, therefore, a pitch detector based on using the MDFT is proposed. The performance of the proposed noise reduction system including the pitch detector is confirmed through computer simulation.
