Analysis and Simulation of BCH Encoding on the Improvement of Bluetooth's Transmission Performance

To enhance the data transmission throughput and anti-interference ability efficiently, a method adding new packets with BCH encoding to the Bluetooth 2.0+EDR specification was proposed. The packet properties of new packets were deduced based on the packet definition of Bluetooth specification. The relationship between packet retransmission probability and average received SNRs of Bluetooth 2.0+EDR specification's DH packets and new BCH packets were analyzed, and then the throughput of DH and BCH packets in different SNRs were investigated. The simulation result shows that adding new packets with BCH encoding to Bluetooth 2.0+EDR specification can improve the anti-interference ability and enhance data transmission throughput greatly in AWGN channel.
