Comparative Analysis of Revolution-leap Formulas for Generator Unit in Transitional Phase

The revolution fluctuation and water hammer pressure in generator unit during transitional phase due to uncoupling of load are a contradiction in adjustment and protection calculation. A generator unit will suffer mechanical failure or even accident if its revolution and water hammer pressure rise excessively. Therefore the calculation of revolution is critical to generator set. Comparison and analysis of local and foreign formulas for the revolution leap showed the differences between the formulas and provided suggestions to correct choice of formulas for practical design of hydropower station. 
